Below are a few questions that we get quite often. Please check back as we will be adding more.
A domain name is like your online street address. When you started your business, you went and got a business name and registered it. You had to use a mailing address for that business. A domain is the same thing, only it's on the web. Example: microsoft.com
IP stands for Internet Protocol. It is the address on the web server where you website sits.
Think of bandwidth as it refers to how much traffic is allowed to travel through the pipeline to your site. So, why is it not unlimited? Just like an entrance ramp on the highway, only so many cars can get on it at one time. So, we do set limits on that so that high traffic sites don't plug up that passageway and slow down visitors to your site.
Storage is the amount of space allotted on the web server to store your site, email messages and databases.
Every site has one main domain name on the server. But many companies have a variety of names that they want to come to the same site. When you park a domain on your site and the surfer types in that address, it will come to your main site.
SSL, or Secure Socket Layers, is what makes secure sites secure. You can tell a site has an SSL certificate by looking in the address bar. Instead of the traditional http://..., you will see an "s" in it: https://. Never give out any personal information (like SSN or credit card numbers) without that "s" in the http://..
A web server is basically a computer designed to act as a server for websites.
FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol. When you FTP a file to the server, or FTP a file from the server to your computer, you will be "transfering files following certain rules (protocols)".
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. There are many ways to make your site optimized, but the most efficient is organic.
Organic SEO is SEO, but eliminating the need to purchase any SEO services from anyone. What this means is that your site not only looks good to the public, but that the code (behind the scenes) is clean, all of your images have "alt tags" with good keywords and that the content on your pages is worded properly. The site is exactly they way that Google and other search engines like it to be.
Print media will use different words than TV or radio. The same with websites. Words used on a printed brochure are to catch the eye of the reader. On a website though, those words are for search engines. The reader will more than likely only look at the images, the headlines to find where they want to go, then the content of the subject they are after. The entire rest of the text is for the search engines.
WOW!! Should have redone the site long ago. I get a good inquiry about once a week. Landed an out of state environmental consulting client like us that needed help in this area. Also some close jobs by a national manufacturer and an attorney in the area.
Just wanted to let you know, I am very happy with the site!!!!

Yesterday I booked my first bride based entirely on her visit to my website. She said it was so beautiful and gave her all the information she needed and she really appreciated getting to see the quality of other vendors in the area. She is from Dallas, Texas doing a total destination wedding at the Chateau.
Thank you so much for my beautiful site! She said she found it using the words wedding planner.
